ACE DONATIONS TO LOCAL CHARITIES

The Tipton and Coseley Building Society’s Charitable Foundation serves up cash

Wimbledon fever is sweeping the country and a number of local charities are also having a ball after netting cash from the Tipton and Coseley Building Society’s Charitable Foundation.

The Foundation has awarded cheques collectively worth £5,510 to a host of locally-based charities. This summer’s beneficiaries include Bilston Methodist Church, Children with Cystic Fibrosis, Deaf World, Mentor Link, Sandwell Young Carers and Tipton Listener’s Service.

John Miller, the Tipton’s general manager and secretary, said: “Many of the beneficiaries are reliant on charitable donations. This is why we are so pleased to help, as it means they will be able to continue their valuable work across the region.”

Twice a year a panel of Society staff and members of the local community come together to allocate funds and this year, the Tipton’s Charitable Foundation expects to donate over £10,000 to health and education charities based in the West Midlands. The Tipton’s Charitable Foundation launched in 1999 and has donated over £150,000 to local charities since then.

For information on the Society’s savings and mortgage products, call the Tipton on 0121 557 2551 open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and between 9am and 12pm on Saturdays.  Alternatively drop in at one of the branches in Tipton, Coseley, Sedgley or Bilston or visit www.thetipton.co.uk
